Vulvar cancer is a rare cancer that forms on the external female genitals (vulva). It often grows slowly over years, starting as vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN). Not all VIN becomes cancer, but early treatment is best.

Often vulvar cancer has no symptoms early on. Annual exams are key if you notice:

  • - A lump on the vulva.
  • - Itching or pain on the vulva.
  • - Bleeding outside menstrual periods.
  • - Skin changes on the vulva, such as color changes or wart-like/ulcerated growths.

Surgical procedures:

  • -Simple vulvectomy, hemivulvectomy, or radical vulvectomy depending on the case.
  • -Sentinel lymph node evaluation.
